Eidevall signs long-term deal after two years in charge at FC Rosengard

Swede guided Rosengard to Swedish Cup triumph in 2018 and 2019

Arsenal Women have appointed Jonas Eidevall as manager and announced an overhaul that will bring increased investment and matches at the Emirates Stadium.

"We're delighted to announce Jonas Eidevall will be joining the club as the new head coach of our women's team," Arsenal said in a statement.

Eidevall, 38, has signed a long-term deal after two years in charge at Swedish side FC Rosengard, where he guided the team to the Swedish Cup triumph in 2018 and 2019.

The Swede, who has been capped 18 times by his country, has a reputation for playing attacking football and developing young players.

His appointment is part of a wider overhaul of Arsenal Women, which has seen the club commit to increasing investment in the team and playing more matches at the Emirates Stadium.

"This is a great opportunity for me to join a club with such a rich history and tradition," Eidevall said.

"I'm looking forward to working with the players and staff to help the team achieve its goals." Arsenal Women finished third in the Women's Super League and reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup last season.
