Apple to Release Public Betas of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and More
New software updates coming soon for Apple devices
iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, HomePod software 18, and watchOS 11 public betas are expected to be released in July.
Apple announced the upcoming public betas during its WWDC 2024 keynote on June 6th. The new software updates will include a number of new features and improvements, including:
- iOS 18: New lock screen customization options, improved Focus modes, and new Messages features
- iPadOS 18: New multitasking features, improved Apple Pencil support, and new Files app features
- macOS Sequoia: New design, improved performance, and new Continuity features
- tvOS 18: New Home Screen design, improved Siri integration, and new gaming features
- HomePod software 18: New Siri features, improved sound quality, and new multi-room audio features
- watchOS 11: New watch faces, improved fitness tracking, and new sleep tracking features
The public betas will be available to download from Apple's website in July. If you're interested in trying out the new software, you can sign up for Apple's Beta Software Program.
The release of the public betas is a sign that Apple is getting closer to releasing the final versions of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, tvOS 18, HomePod software 18, and watchOS 11. The final versions of the software are expected to be released in the fall.
