Alexis Holmes: Hamden Native Qualifies for Olympic 400m Final

From Cheshire Academy to the World Stage

Alexis Holmes, a Cheshire Academy graduate from Hamden, will soon make her Olympic debut in the 400m event.

After a remarkable performance in the heats, Holmes secured her spot in the final with a 23.90 split time through the first 200 meters. This placed her in a strong fifth position at the halfway mark.

Now, just two races away from a potential podium finish, the 24-year-old athlete is determined to give it her all on the world stage.

Representing Team United States, Holmes is currently ranked 157th in the world and as the top overall American woman in the event.
